Stage Fright is a 1999 Aardman stop-motion film directed by Steve Box. It is set in an Edwardian theater at a time when movies are coming into fashion.
It delivers a strong anti-bullying message and is highly reminiscent of the old-fashioned melodramas, where the villain gets his comeuppance at the end of the play. Quotes

Characters

Tiny (Graham Fellowes): A shy juggler with a troupe of trained dogs. Lives in a basket in an old theater.
Cathy(Tess Daulton): Tiny's love interest. A musician. Leaves the theater to star in Arnold's films but comes back to Tiny
Arnold: The villain of the piece. He is a mean bully who keeps Tiny imprisoned in the old theater and makes him train dogs for his movies while taking the credit. Tiny gets his revenge by training the dogs to attack at the mention of the word "Hat!" Arnold goes after Tiny and hangs him over the orchestra pit. He tries to strangle Cathy but is killed by a falling screen while trying to get away from Tiny's dogs.
Pianist: A ghost who saves Tiny. Appears at the end to take Arnold to Hell.
